COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Art Spirit Gallery, a beloved local institution, will be closing its doors permanently on Friday, February 13, during the ArtWalk event.
For 30 years, the gallery has been a vibrant part of the community, welcoming artists, collectors and neighbors.
The gallery expressed gratitude, saying, “You have been our family: artists, collectors, neighbors and friends who have filled this space with creation, conversation and care.”
In its final days, the gallery will feature two installations by artist Lisa Koep. At the heart of the gallery, “The Spirit of Our Art” will serve as a five-foot circular community altar. This installation is crafted from images of artwork taken from original reception cards spanning three decades. Visitors can engage with the altar by offering a memory, note, symbol, flower or financial contribution.
The second installation, “Our Art in Time,” transforms the gallery walls into a 30-year timeline made from art reception cards, turning the entire space into a living altar.
The community is invited to join the final celebration from 5-8 p.m. at The Art Spirit Gallery, located at 415 E. Sherman Ave.
