SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect early Monday morning after a disturbance at a hotel on East Indiana Avenue.
Deputies responded around 1:20 a.m. to reports of a man brandishing a weapon. A hotel employee stated that the man, later identified as 41-year-old Joshua J. Arkinson, had shattered a glass door and claimed people were trying to kill him.
Arkinson was found near the scene and taken into custody. Deputies recovered two knives and a set of brass knuckles from his possession. According to Washington RCW 9.41.250, possession of brass knuckles is illegal.
While being questioned, Arkinson claimed that five girls were attempting to kill him and that he broke the window to seek help from law enforcement.
“Arkinson kept frantically looking around and seeing people around him who weren’t really there,” deputies noted.
Arkinson was booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of malicious mischief and possession of a dangerous weapon.
