Amanda Knox and Monica Lewinsky are joining forces as executive producers for a new limited series titled “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox.”
Knox, a former University of Washington student, gained international attention after her boyfriend was accused of murdering her roommate in Italy. Knox was an exchange student at the time. Her then-boyfriend was convicted and served nearly four years in prison before their convictions were overturned.
In 2024, an Italian appellate court upheld a slander conviction against Knox for falsely accusing her of involvement in the murder.
Lewinsky shared that she met Knox before Knox’s first public speaking engagement in 2017. “We talked about how they survived being the focal point of a nationwide and worldwide scandal,” said Lewinsky.
She described their meeting, saying, “Amanda was giving her first public talk at the same place I was also giving a public talk. So she came to my room I gave her some tea gave her some pointers on public speaking and I could see that there was a pain in her and it’s a very unique pain that I recognized.”
Lewinsky, who was a White House intern when her affair with President Bill Clinton became public, has since become a writer, producer, podcast producer, and activist.
