Alleged shooter of Israel embassy staff in D.C. charged with a hate crime

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man accused of outside the Capital Jewish Museum in May has been charged with committing a federal hate crime as well as first-degree murder.

Elias Rodriguez, 31, is now facing nine charges in total for the incident on May 21st. The death penalty may also be on the table.

“This is a weighty decision,” said U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro. “The Attorney General herself will make a decision regarding whether or not this office will seek death against Elias Rodriguez.”
