AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. – Angela Andreas-Miller, who was arrested in January after incendiary devices were found in her apartment and car, was sentenced to six months with time served on July 21.
Miller, who originally pleaded not guilty to seven counts against her, changed her plea to guilty during her hearing in superior court.
According to court documents, an entire building was evacuated when a 2-foot pipe bomb was discovered in her closet, along with seven improvised explosive devices in her car after policed were executing an unrelated search warrant.
Investigators determined the bombs were operable and posed a significant risk.
When questioned about a handwritten recipe for explosives, Miller claimed she was researching homemade fireworks for a novel she was writing.
In court, the judge lowered Andreas-Miller’s federal charges to state level due to her mental health and substance abuse.
The judge emphasized that something like this cannot happen again during her hearing. Andreas-Miller will be required to undergo sobriety testing upon release.
