
AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — The Airway Heights Police Department (AHPD) announced on Tuesday that multiple moose calves have been seen wandering around the area, specifically near Aspen Place and West Drive, following the .
AHPD noted that some witnesses have seem them settling in Aspen Grove Park at night to sleep.
“Please enjoy them from a distance. Don’t approach, feed, or try to get close for photos,” AHPD stated. “Please keep your kids close to you, and your pets leashed.”
Authorities have advised residents that in the case of a moose wandering their way, to calmly move away and try to ensure there is a barrier between them and the animal, such as a car or a fence.
“They’ll usually move along on their own once they feel comfortable,” AHPD added. “Giving them space helps keep both our neighbors and the moose safe.”
