COLFAX, Wash. — An Airway Heights man was arrested for leading Whitman County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a motorcycle chase near Spangle Friday afternoon.
According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were trying to find 19-year-old Logan McIntosh of Airway Heights, who was riding a motorcycle that fled from Washington State Patrol troopers near Colfax during a traffic stop.
Deputies saw McIntosh on State Route 195 and tried to stop him, but he refused to pull over. The sheriff’s office said it lost sight of McIntosh’s motorcycle near Spangle.
Shortly after, multiple 911 calls came in saying McIntosh was seen hiding on a property just north of Spangle. One person confronted the suspect, who tried to leave, but was detained until deputies arrived.
McIntosh was taken into custody without incident on charges for attempting to elude a police vehicle and criminal trespassing.
The sheriff’s office said McIntosh also has an extensive driving history, which includes reckless driving, speeding, failing to yield to emergency vehicles, driving without a valid license, and failing to obey traffic signals.
The Sheriff’s Office says while it appreciates the help in this case, people should not physically detain suspects since it can be dangerous.
