SPOKANE, Wash. – During their arraignments in Spokane’s Superior Court today, Justice Forral and Erin Lang were informed of the charges held against them.

Their charges are based on their actions at the against ICE’s detainment of Cesar Alexander Alvarez Perez and Joswar Slater Rodriguez Torres.

Forral, who also has a separate charge for unlawful detainment, was charged today with third-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.

They pleaded “not guilty” to the charge.

Their trial readiness date was set for September 2 at 1:30 p.m. and their trial date was set for September 22.

Lang, who’s arraignment today was for unlawful detainment, was not charged today. The case was dismissed by the superior court without prejudice, which means that the party who initiated the case could potentially refile it later.

“There could be charges filed in a different court, but in superior court under this number you have no obligations and no further court dates,” said Judge Charnelle Bjelkengren in regards to Lang’s case.
