SPOKANE, Wash. – The demolition of Adams Elementary on South Hill took place earlier on Monday, marking a significant step in the Spokane School District’s Together Spokane initiative.
The project is one of the first associated with the initiative, focusing on rebuilding the school to better serve the community.
NonStop Local spoke with some students from Adams Elementary who witnessed the demolition. Ollie and Ashby, students at the school, shared their thoughts on seeing their gym being torn down.
“It’s crazy. This is our whole entire gym just being tore down. It’s so crazy to see,” said Ollie.
Ashby added, “Yeah, like we were playing like football and hockey in that gym and just seeing it all come down… So crazy…”
The demolition is part of a larger effort to improve educational facilities in Spokane, ensuring students have access to updated and safe learning environments.
The rebuild of Adams Elementary is a key project in the initiative, reflecting the district’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure.
