FREMOUNT COUNTY, Idaho – A judge in the trial of Chad Daybell has issued a gag order until after opening statements are made.
The trial is now covered by a non-dissemination order that forbids any party to the case, “including the prosecuting attorney, defense attorney and any attorney representing a witness, victim or victim’s family,” from making written or oral statements about the case.
Court documents say the silence order comes after counsel for the defense interviewed a reporter.
The interview was broadcasted to the public during the time that unbiased jurors were being sought by the court.
Daybell is accused of murdering two children and his ex-wife.
