BURLINGTON, Wash. – Families in Burlington who were forced to leave their homes due to flooding have been informed they can return home.
Despite this, much of Skagit County’s lowlands remain submerged, with roadways and walkways covered by more than a foot of water.
Those who evacuated are finding their belongings either gone or damaged and are mourning the loss of pets.
However, the option to return home might be short-lived as the region braces for another round of rain expected to arrive in the coming hours.
