3 kitchen faucets sold on Amazon recalled for lead concerns

SPOKANE, Wash. – Three brands of kitchen faucets sold on Amazon were recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Thursday due to concerns of lead exposure for young children.

CPSC says faucets under the brands VFAUOSIT, KICIMPRO and BASDEHEN were tested and found to contain lead that can get into the water at levels that can be particularly harmful for infants and young children.

VFAUOSIT and BASDEHEN-brand faucets in particular were also found to contain other contaminants.

The three brands combine for over 100,000 units sold in the U.S. Those who are using any of the brands should immediately stop using them and contact the store about disposal and a refund.

Until replacement, the CPSC says consumers should only drink water from the faucets after running them for 15 seconds.

Ingesting lead can lead to neurological effects on infants and young children, including lowered cognitive performance and attention-related behavioral problems, per CPSC.
