2 Colorado men identified as those killed in Upper Selway River rafting accident

IDAHO COUNTY, Idaho – Authorities have released the names of two men who died while rafting the Upper Selway River.

The Idaho County Coroner’s Office identified the men as 41-year-old Daniel Triantafillow and 35-year-old Matthew Lane. Both were from Colorado. Their deaths occurred on Saturday according to the coroner’s office. The causes of death remain under investigation.

The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office reported that Triantafillow and Lane were part of a rafting group. They died in a river section between Double Drop and Wa-poots Rapids. Due to the challenging location, their bodies were not recovered until Sunday.
