WELLPINIT, Wash. — Spokane Tribal Police (STP) officers engaged in a high-speed chase after identifying a stolen vehicle on Tuesday at the Pow Wow Grounds. The driver of the vehicle had an active warrant for escape from community custody.
The pursuit lasted about 45 minutes, taking place along Little Falls Road, Joe Sherwood Road, Elijah Road and Matthews Lake Road. Officers successfully deployed spike strips on Matthews Lake Road to impede the vehicle.
The chase concluded on Sherwood Loop Road, where the vehicle came to a stop. The two occupants inside the car were detained without further incident.
