18-year-old identified in deadly Nez Perce County crash

18-year-old Gracie Taylor has been identified as the victim of the fatal crash in Nez Perce County.

The Nez Perce County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that Taylor’s cause of death is likely due to blunt force injuries, though official confirmation is still pending.

NEZ PERCE COUNTY, Idaho – The Idaho State Police are investigating a deadly single-car crash.

According to Idaho State Police the crash occurred Monday, June 23, around 8:30 p.m. on Waha Road near Buchanan Road.

An 18-year-old female from Lewiston was driving a Toyota 4Runner northbound when she left the roadway, entered a ditch, and rolled. She was airlifted to a local hospital but later died from her injuries.

The crash blocked the roadway for about three hours as emergency responders assisted at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and they are investigating alcohol and drugs as possible factors.

The Idaho State Police continue to investigate this tragic incident.
