
GRANT COUNTY, Wash. – One person was killed on State Route 281 three miles south of Quincy after it was pushed into the northbound lane while waiting to turn.
The victim’s car was stopped in the southbound lane of SR 281, waiting to turn left onto Road 6 NW when it was hit from behind by another driver going south on SR 281, Washington State Patrol said.
State Patrol said the victim’s car was pushed into the northbound lane of SR 281 and was hit by a car driving north on the road.
The 46-year-old driver was declared dead at the scene, State Patrol said. The crash was reported at 6:47 a.m. on Saturday.
The 31-year-old driver who crashed into the victim’s car made the first call to the police and is not facing charges, State Patrol said.
The 38-year-old driver who rear ended the victim has pending charges.
The incident is under investigation.
