CONNELL, Wash. – Two separate crashes that happened around the same spot on US 395 north of Connell killed one person and injured five on Saturday, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The first crash happened not long after 4 p.m. about four miles north of Connell. One truck reportedly slowed down for traffic, resulting in a car to crash into it. The car’s driver was injured and brought to a nearby hospital.
The second crash involved six vehicles at the same location as the first crash. The crash was a pileup caused by drivers driving too fast for the conditions.
One person, Andrew Thomas, 29, of Spokane, died at the scene of the crash while four others were injured.
